Half a Dozen, an exhibition by ceramics students presented by MADE, July 28 – August 25, 2012

Half a Dozen

Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Six artists present six different explorations of ceramic materials linked by a thread of domestic life and the stories that household objects could tell. Each set of objects has metamorphosed from its real-life counterpart, exhibiting a playful rearrangement, reinterpretation, or retelling of form, function, and purpose.

In the exhibition “Half a Dozen” MADE will showcase the work of six students of ceramics from Sheridan College’s  Craft & Design Program: Jessie McEwen, Andrea Poorter, Lyne Reid, Annemarie Row, Emma Smith, and Nurielle Stern.  Inspired by the association of ceramics to domestic life throughout history, these six artists draw upon the power of everyday objects to become intimate parts of our lives.

MADE’s showroom and gallery is located at 867 Dundas Street West in Toronto between Euclid & Manning.
